In Pieces by Sally Field (2018)

Sally Field wrote the book herself -- there was no need for an "As told to So-and-So" by-line. Indeed, it is a transparent labor of love, warts and all, about her complicated childhood, her first years as a naive young actress, and her discovery of the secrets of acting. She shines with honesty, a sense of humor, and grace on every page. It turns out that Burt Reynolds and she did have a relationship, but it is, in her telling, not as significant as it was in his telling.
I highly recommend this book if you are curious about the life of a successful working actor. Note of caution: there is graphic depiction of the sexual abuse by her step-father that she suffered as a teenager.
Pictured is Sally Field at her 21st birthday party, hosted by Screen Gems, which included Davy Jones, left, and Peter Tork, right, of the Monkees. (The Monkees' TV show was being filmed on the transformed set of what had been Sally Field's Gidget set.)
There was "talk" at that time that Sally's date was Davy, but it wasn't true though there was some flirting. Behind Sally is her half-sister Princess, who was only 15 but much taller than Sally. (They had different fathers.)
